The gateway will be installed within 3 meters of your consumer unit
Your engineer will then commission the battery and test that everything is working
Your engineer will talk through the work thats been done & explain how your system works
They’ll get you set up on the app and show you how to use it

All solutions will come with a partner app which allows you to monitor the performance of your solar and battery system. Within the app you can see how much energy is stored in the battery and how much is being consumed by your home.
Yes, all large electricity-powered devices such as battery storage, solar panels, heat pumps, and EV chargers need to be registered with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO). These devices, also known as energy assets, will impact electricity demand, so it’s important that networks are aware of them so they can manage demand on the system and avoid outages. When you choose BOXT for your battery storage installation, we sort all of the necessary registration of your system, including notifying the DNO.
The lifespan of a solar battery varies based on the type you have. A lithium-ion battery, for example, will last between 10 and 15 years, while lead-acid batteries will only last around 7-and-a-half years. It’s important to remember that technology is advancing all the time too, so more modern batteries may last even longer than the timeframes above.
Yes, you can! In fact, if you have a time-of-use electricity tariff that offers a cheaper unit rate in off-peak hours, charging a home storage battery from the grid is a great way of benefitting from cheaper electricity throughout the day. Plus, if you live in an area that’s frequently impacted by power cuts, battery storage is a great option as a backup power supply.
