At BOXT, our installations come with a one year guarantee to give you peace of mind that your new product is covered in the unlikely event something goes wrong. This guarantee covers you for 12 months for any faults directly related to how your new product has been installed, such as the pipework or connections on a new boiler. If the issue isn&rsquo;t as a result of our engineers' work, then it wouldn&rsquo;t come under the workmanship guarantee, however it might be covered by the manufacturer&rsquo;s warranty.

At BOXT, we register the warranty with the manufacturer for you when we complete the installation, so you don&rsquo;t have to worry about a thing.&nbsp;

<h2>What does the workmanship guarantee cover?</h2>
The BOXT workmanship guarantee is to give you peace of mind that if you encounter a problem that's a result of the work done by our BOXT engineer within the 12 months following your installation, we&rsquo;ll fix it for you at no extra cost.&nbsp;
For example, this can include:

<li>The pipework leading to or from the boiler if it was installed by our engineer,&nbsp;</li>
<li>Hand applied seals, such as those around the boiler flue.</li>
</ul>
If you get new radiators installed as part of your package, these will come with their own 15-year manufacturer-backed warranty, and they&rsquo;ll be covered by our one-year workmanship guarantee too! If you kept your existing radiators, then they won&rsquo;t be covered by our workmanship - as we won&rsquo;t have done any work on them.&nbsp;
The workmanship guarantee doesn&rsquo;t include your first annual <a href="https://www.boxt.co.uk/boilers/boiler-servicing" rel="follow">boiler service</a>, however for just &pound;8.99 a month you can sign up to a&nbsp;<a href="https://www.boxt.co.uk/home-cover">Home Cover Service plan</a> to spread the cost of your boiler service. Then, when it&rsquo;s due, we&rsquo;ll send you a reminder to book online, or through the handy BOXT app, and one of our expert engineers will come to visit on a date that suits you.&nbsp;

<h2>What does the manufacturer warranty cover?</h2>
The manufacturer's warranty covers any problems that arise due to a fault with the product itself, including the components inside.
For example, this can include faults with:

<li>The boiler fan,&nbsp;</li>
<li>The temperature sensor.</li>

<h2>What isn't covered?</h2>
In some instances, faults can arise that unfortunately won't be covered by either our workmanship guarantee, or the boiler manufacturer's warranty.
For example, the radiators and other pipework in your heating system wouldn&rsquo;t be included in the manufacturer&rsquo;s warranty, as they only cover the boiler. These also wouldn&rsquo;t be covered by the BOXT Workmanship Guarantee as it&rsquo;s not something we&rsquo;ve worked on - unless we installed new radiators and corresponding pipework along with your boiler.&nbsp;
However products such as smart thermostats or radiators usually come with a warranty from their own manufacturer, and so if an issue arises while they&rsquo;re still within the warranty period then you could arrange a repair directly with them.
If you do have an issue that&rsquo;s not covered by a guarantee or warranty, or your workmanship guarantee or manufacturer&rsquo;s warranty have expired,&nbsp; then don&rsquo;t worry. At BOXT we offer <a href="https://www.boxt.co.uk/boilers/boiler-repair">boiler repair visits</a>, where for an &pound;89 fixed fee our engineer will visit your home to diagnose the problem, and if they can fix it there and then they will! 70% of the time our engineer can fix the problem within the one-hour visit, with no extra parts required and no extra charge beyond the initial &pound;89.&nbsp;

British smart home systems installer BOXT accelerates expansion plans to become the leader in the UK domestic heating market after raising &pound;20 million in a fresh round of funding.
The latest round was led by Brookfield, one of the largest global investors in infrastructure which invested in companies that include residential infrastructure specialists Thermondo in Germany and Enercare in Canada and the U.S.
With its sights set on improving heating efficiency and installing smart home solutions to anyone in the country, whatever their post code, BOXT will use the cash injection to spur UK growth, whilst also supporting the government&rsquo;s pledge to cut UK emissions by 80% by 2050.
The fundraising follows an initial investment from engineering giant Bosch.
Born out of a belief that the heating industry wasn&rsquo;t fair on consumers, founders Mel Butler, Andy Kerr and Keith Jones launched BOXT in 2017, developing a unique digital platform to simplify and democratise the process for homeowners.

Growing to over 70 employees since its inception in 2017, BOXT aims to double its workforce in the next 18 months; adding to their operations team at the headquarters in Leeds as well as the product &amp; development team based in London.
The digital heating disruptor has amassed a network of over 3,000 engineers, with a view to increasing this to 6,000 by 2023 to meet customer demand.

In a bid to lower&nbsp;<a href="https://www.statista.com/statistics/449503/">UK carbon emissions</a>, government advisors have called for low carbon heating to replace gas in all new homes built after 2025. A BEIS survey found half of respondents had never heard of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.statista.com/statistics/426221/">renewable heat</a>.

Introducing BOXT’s New Customer App

BOXT is looking forward to being part of an expert-led consortium through the Heat Pump Ready Programme.

BOXT is looking forward to being part of the expert-led consortium, through the Heat Pump Ready Programme, funded through the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP), which has just been announced to investigate the feasibility of an optimised deployment of domestic heat pumps, at high density in the City of Oxford.
The consortium consists of leading manufacturer of heat pumps - Samsung, Oxford University, Oxford Brookes University and Oxfordshire County Council, behaviour technologists Gengame and energy &amp; utilities decarbonisation - SMS PLC. The plan is to develop a ground-breaking customer offer for fully installed and maintained smart heat pumps which will be trialled initially within the local Oxford community.
&nbsp;Andy Kerr CEO &amp; Founder of BOXT says &lsquo;&lsquo;It has always been important at BOXT to lead the way and innovate by disrupting and modernising the heating industry and we see this as the crucial next step in developing the future of renewable heating in the UK. It allows us to expand the fixed, fair pricing model that has made BOXT so successful within the gas boiler industry to the renewable energy products&rsquo; by removing friction and cost from the current process.&rsquo;&rsquo;
If successful, Phase 2 of the project would consist of 750 heat pumps being installed in a community of 3,000 homes in the City of Oxford. As part of the project, local gas heating engineers will be upskilled and will work with the county and city councils and with finance providers to make sure that a wide range of people within the local community (including homes with lower incomes) are able to benefit from a heat pump. Installations will be carried out by BOXT&rsquo;s network of gas safe registered engineers &amp; yearly maintenance will be offered using the same local network alongside a 7-year warranty.
We will work with the local DNO (SSEN) to identify any local network constraints and opportunities to use the flexible smart control of heat pumps to avoid the need for expensive grid upgrades and connection charges for customers. We will also work with energy suppliers using smart metering and half-hourly settlement of the electricity used by heat pumps to reduce a supplier&rsquo;s costs and to be able to offer a cheaper simple-to-understand tariff to customers.

The competition, open from 8th September to 5th November, automatically entered any BOXT customer who bought a Google product add-on or tech bundle with their boiler into our prize draw, and one lucky customer won a brand-new Google-activated Fiat 500.&nbsp;
Out of over 1,000 entrants, our lucky winner was Marcin from York. We were delighted to hand over the keys on a fresh December morning in the beautiful setting just outside York Minster - with the Christmas lights adding to the festive atmosphere as Marcin received his early Christmas gift.&nbsp;
