Do all landlords need boiler cover?

Not exactly. All landlords must service their boiler annually by law, this is to make sure that your boiler is operating efficiently and safely for your tenants. Moreover, it also keeps your boiler manufacturer's warranty valid. It just so happens that our boiler cover plans include an annual service. Our plans offer different levels of protection depending on which one you decide to sign up for.

Why choose BOXT landlord boiler cover?

Being a landlord doesn’t come without its stressful moments. Dealing with multiple properties all requiring annual services on different dates can cause quite the headache. But it doesn’t have to be so complicated.

Everyone at BOXT likes to keep everything simple. Which is why when you sign up to any of our boiler cover plans it’ll feel like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders. Choose from either our Service plan or Protect+. Both of our plans come with an annual service, landlord’s Gas Safety certificate, and a gas cooker and oven inspection.

Our Protect+ plan goes even further. As well as breakdown cover, you also receive cover for your wider heating system. This includes replacements of your flue, radiators, and pipework.

FAQs

Are landlords responsible for boilers?

Yes, landlords are responsible for the maintenance of a tenant’s boiler. That means when it breaks down or there are any problems with the boiler, landlords must find a solution and contact a professional to sort it as soon as possible. Landlords are also responsible for organising an annual service.

How quickly must a landlord fix a boiler?

That all relies on the seriousness of the problem. If the tenant is left without hot water and heating or there’s a water leak - then they must be fixed as quickly as possible. At this point, you should contact an engineer to go and take a look at the problem.

Do I have to pay a callout fee with BOXT landlord boiler cover?

That all depends on which boiler cover plan you decide to go for. With our Protect+ plan, you won’t be charged a call out fee.

Can landlords get help with a new boiler?

One of the main advantages of signing up with BOXT is that it spreads the cost of an annual service over a 12-month contract. By paying monthly instead of for a one-off service, you’re able to be more organised with your finances. On the occasion there may be something wrong with your tenant’s boiler, then repairs will be far more affordable.
