Why do you need boiler cover?

Boiler cover is for those days when things go a little bit sideways. When you sign up with BOXT, you prepare your home for any boiler-related scenario. We have two boiler cover plans for you to choose from: Service or Protect+. Signing up to our boiler cover will be one of the smartest decisions you’ll make all day - and it only takes a second.

Our busy lives can make remembering to book an annual service easy to forget. When you get your boiler serviced, it keeps your warranty valid and up to date. If you don’t and your boiler does break down, repairing it may cost you a fair bit as you won’t be able to have the manufacturer come out and repair it for free.

This is one of the many advantages of choosing BOXT boiler cover. Once you sign up, that’s it. You don’t need to worry about remembering a thing. When the time comes for your annual service, we contact you, offer a couple of dates that fit around your busy life and book you in. It’s dead easy.

Our Protect+ plan includes an engineer callout whenever you need it. This means when you’re all signed up, you won’t have to pay for additional callout prices.

Who needs boiler cover?

Aside from those renting a property, boiler cover is something we should all really be considering. If you’re a homeowner or a landlord, boiler cover provides you with the ultimate protection for your property. During the cold winter months, all sorts of problems can arise - such as the dreaded frozen condensate pipe. This can cause leaks, blockages, and all sorts of headaches that can lead to callout and repair costs adding up.

Boiler cover is your saving grace. For any boiler nuisances, boiler cover gives you the support you need during these stressful moments. When you sign up for our Protect+ plan, your entire heating system will be in the safest of hands. The second you spot something wrong, we’ll help you identify the problem. If it’s necessary, we’ll send out an engineer as quickly as possible to take a look at it for you - at no extra cost. Our Protect+ plan even covers repairs to your flue, radiators, and pipework.

BOXT boiler cover.

There are many different home cover plans for you to choose from on the market; quite frankly, it can become a bit complicated. What you need is a company that keeps everything simple for once.

At BOXT, you know you’re talking to a real person. We don’t leave you on hold for hours, read from a script, or shrug our shoulders when things get tricky. Instead, we’re an honest team of problem solvers. We work together to help you with whatever state your boiler is in. Courtesy of our specialist in house engineers, we can offer you expert opinion and advice whenever you need it. That’s what makes our home cover so effective; you and your boiler are being looked after by the boiler people who truly know their stuff.

You have the option to choose from our Service plan or Protect+ plan. Both of them are slightly different and offer security in their own ways for homeowners and landlords.

Our Service plan (for homeowners) is really for customers who are interested in having their boiler serviced annually. You receive your annual service as well as your Gas Safety certificate. Moreover, getting your boiler serviced means your warranty will remain nice and valid. Therefore, if you have any problems with the boiler itself - your warranty will have you covered, and you won’t have to pay for any repairs.

When you sign up to our Protect+ plan, you’ll have the ultimate protection for your home as it covers repairs to your wider heating system. This includes: flue, radiator, controls, pump, valves, expansion tank, flue, and pipework. Protect+ offers you plenty more cushioning for when your boiler slips up.

Boiler cover is the responsibility of homeowners and landlords. However, when something goes wrong with your boiler, with a home cover plan, it’s BOXT’s responsibility to fix the problem. We may use your boiler manufacturer to fix the problem, as sometimes, if it’s not an installation issue, there'll be something wrong with the boiler itself.

  • Do I need more than boiler-only cover?

That’s up to you. Protect+ offers you a bit more safety compared to our Service plan as it covers both your boiler and wider heating system. This includes: repairs and replacements to your flue, pipework, radiators, controls. We recommend going with Protect+, especially during winter - just for the extra peace of mind.

  • Do I need emergency boiler cover?

If you have Protect+, you won’t need an emergency boiler cover. However, we will prioritise more serious issues for those who don’t. These include: gas leaks, water leaks, or no hot water and heating completely.

  • How many times can you claim?

Whenever there is a problem with your boiler or heating system, you can contact us as many times as you need. You’ll be talking to one of our specialists, so they’ll be able to offer you a solution.

  • Does boiler cover include an annual boiler service?

Yes. Both of our home covers, Service plan and Protect+ plan, include an annual boiler service. We’ll contact you around one month before your boiler installation’s anniversary to arrange a time and date with you.
